Tim is a highly sought after global commercials director with a solid reputation for comedy and narrative storytelling. He has received numerous awards at Cannes, The British Arrows and D&AD and is a five time winner of the Australian Director’s Guild Award for Best Direction in a Television Commercial.
Tim spent 2 years in Corporate Recovery with KPMG and 8 years in advertising with Saatchi & Saatchi as a suit before embarking on a radical career change precipitated by the success of his highly awarded short films including the black comedy, Buried, which took out the prestigious first prize at Australia’s Tropfest Film Festival. Tim has directed television for both the 7 and 9 networks in Australia most notably Bryan Brown’s Two Twisted. He was nominated for an AFI for writing the TV series 30 seconds, a parody about advertising which he co-created.
In 2014, Tim together with EP Adrian Shapiro co-founded the highly awarded and globally recognised Scoundrel Films. With a reputation for producing a broad spectrum of high end commercials, the company has been awarded Production Company of The Year by SHOTS, Ciclope, AWARD and AXIS.
